Hi Janek. Your last sentence in the quote above is exactly the thing to think about here. You can do the same thing in Logic. When you insert a plug on an audio track, soft instrument, or output pair, then the entire signal is routed throught the plug - except for a few plugs which have wet/dry parameters like some of the reverbs (actually I wish more had that feature!). But if you want a variable amount of fx, then insert the plug on one of the busses instead (you can seem them on the audio mixer window). Then go to your audio track or soft instrument, and using the channel strip use the SEND and choose that same buss. You can adjust the amount of send from a little tiny rotary software knob on the channel strip - and I think that is automatable. This is also a more efficient way of doing things since several tracks can be fed into the same reverb buss in varying amounts, rather than setting up the same plug on each track.
If you just want on/off - you can automate that for anything without using the sends/buss. Just automate and hit the bypass button on the plug. This is good for the tape delay where you might want the last syllable to get an echo but not the rest.
