i think i would :
1. upgrade the OS using "Software Update". Many times they are shipped with
slighly older OS's. Repair Disk permissions
2. Install any audio or midi interfaces. Run the AudioMidi utiity to set
those up.
3. install Logic, and get updates via software update, run through the setup
wizard, repair permisions.
4. Copy over your Logic song files.
5. Copy logic preferences folder ...to desktop to use for importing key
commands
6. If you have made any custom patches for virtual synths or plugins, you'll
need to think about that. Its a bit of a headache since they are stored in so
many places. For example
Library > Application Support > (plug name)
Library > Audio > Plug Ins > Settings
Applications Folder > (plug name)
and other places, including the user version of all of the above.
( I think Apple needs to remember KISS (keep it simple stupid) in this
regard)
7. Set up Autoload files. Library > Application Support > Logic > Templates
and user version of that ~/YourName/Application Support/Logic/Templates
8. You might need to change your screensets if the monitor size is different.
9. Remember you get 90 days of free support from Apple - although they won't
answer any question, but just those related to your installation.
(I am writing this from memory so there may be some errors in the above, but
generally I think thats the process).Message
