This may be a new policy but i bought an educational
version of Logic 6 from Apple and have done every
upgrade since without any problem. There seems to be a
lot of confusion around this issue and Apple needs to
clarify this. JP
I think it started with LP7. I was told this by three different Apple people at three different locations - including the guy who is the Logic teacher at one of the Apple stores. As a college faculty member, I am eligible for the academic version too, and I can sell my current Logic version for about the same as buying the upgrade - so getting a free upgrade in a sense. But Logic is my main music tool, even with its flaws - and I don't want to mess around with it. You may be ok, since you upgraded from 6 academic to 7 normal. But buying 7 academic might be a different story.
