Oh I do agree that we are an important resource for Apple, my point is that it is not a paying position... > > > > What is on your wishlist for Logic 8? > > An easy arpeggiator plug in. Yep- and I use it that way occasionally- I guess I'm looking for an UltraBeat style UI that makes it easy to make quick musical patterns and allows you to play them with a MIDI keyboard like UltraBeat. It might allow you to layer virtual and MIDI instruments so you can create dense layers of sound that respond to a few controllers. > > I kinda wish the mixer page would fit my cinema display without having > scroll left to right or up and down. Have you tried making a window set that fits a certain portion of the faders in that space, at least you can conveniently view smaller chunks of the Mixer Layout and switch between them quickly. You can make up to 99 window sets (!) per session. I make templates with window sets already worked out, so when I start a new session- blammo- I'm able to see things the way I want. > > I often wanted a cleaner single window but with pallets in the window > which are customizable in size and shape to a little greater degree > than now. I think this is possible with Window Sets, you should really look into this. Window Sets are one of the most powerful and under-utilized of Logic's features IMO. > > I would also like to be able to do some more interesting midi things > to a melody to make a theme and variations automatically. You can make an arpeggiator object in environments but I've never been able to get this to work right... It seems overly cumbersome to use, I'd love an easy arpeggiator that works like UltraBeat- I love UltraBeat- - Do you know: a) That in the latest version of LogicPro you can simply drag patterns made in UltraBeat to the arrange window. b) You can then split the resulting track by pitch and get a bunch of MIDI tracks all nice and seperated with each drum sound on it's own track. This allows you to create audio files out of each drum part, apply individual groove templates on individual percussion parts, and reassign or layer MIDI parts to other sources for drum sounds, like ESX or external drum modules.
