I think swing is primarily for tech people to get some quick feel. However, you can get a much more natural your feel by yourself, just tap a drum beat on a table top and record it with a powerbook's builtin mic, then put it into Logic and trim it, and convert to midi.

A natural drummer will speed up things and slow them down. there were some good articles on this in the british magazines. in one case, they took a James Brown song, and analyzed the tempo throughout the song and it sped up and slowed down to give the great feel.
