try using a compressor with a side chain input from the fireworks track. actually i am not sure if you want to compress or expand.

I have a recording of fireworks that I would like to use to control the volume of a recording of an empty room.
So when the bags go off – my audio recording briefly gets louder automatically
I don’t want to hear the control track [fireworks]
