Latency will be the same placing plugs on an input object or a channel
strip. The signal still has to be processed by the computer regardless. Turn
on software monitoring and adjust your buffer as low as it can go, the
latter reduces latency. I'm on a 2x2 G5 and run my buffer at 128, at this
setting I get almost zero latency.
