Hi A-Train,
I do not own the MacBook Pro.
But, the problem seems the same for the Titanium G4's (and most other  
laptops)
Make sure you are not trying to run the audio from your internal drive.
Use and external USB/FW drive that is at least 7200 RPM.
The internals on laptops are usually 5400 RPM and thats not fast  
enough to read all the audio files in time without choking
