Haywire track automation--please help!

2006-11-04 by Aaron Wagner

Hello,

I'm in desperate need of help. Sorry to sound overdramatic.

I am having a problem whereby, as I play through a project, the levels in the Mixing
window will fluctuate uncontrollably on their own. So I will start a track and have a certain
recorded layer (it seems to be only happenning with MIDI, not Audio tracks), say, at -4.2,
in the middle of the song the level will fluctuate--always upward, so one level will get
incredibly loud--without me having any control. If I try to re-adjust the level to what I
want, Logic takes on a mind of its own and continues to push the level up.

My friend has told me this is a real-time track automation thing; that I have done
something during the initial recording process so that auto-mixing is a function Logic is
taking onto itself. What can I do to reverse this? What window do I need to have up and
what do I need to press so that I am not having this problem?

I hope my explanation has been sufficient, but if you are willing to help me but need
better description, I can be reached at: aaronwagner1977@.... Or reply to this
message and I will check it out.

Thanks so much for your help. Hope all are well and not in need of the obnoxious date-
site promotions and whatnot that creep onto this list-serve.

Aaron
