It sounds like you were in "Touch" mode while playing down a track. You then probably "grabbed" the fader (at some point) and moved it around. Logic "recorded" this as Automation. Tricky, right? ; ) There's a way to strip the selected track's autoomation. See if this works: Select the track you wish to remove the automation from... Then, go to Options > Track Automation > Remove All Automation From Selected Track. I'm not in front of Logic right now, but that should be the path to get back to square one with your track... It's also good practice to put yourself in "Off" mode on a track if you want to adjust things on the fly without automating. Look for the pulldown menu on the "left" side of your selected track (under the "Mute", "Solo", "Record" or "Freeze" buttons.) Let me know if this helps!
