Paul thanks, i just tried but wasn't able to do. i selected the audio file, and chose 'Open In Apple Loops Utility.' Once opened, i don't see where it actually works on, or quantizes the audio data. i saw the transients pane, but didn't see that if affected the audio file. Let me know if i'm missing something. Also, once saved i didn't see it show up in the Loop Browser. FYI - Lately, with just 1 or 2 mouse clicks, have been creating Quanitze Groove Templates from Stylus loops that are in the Arrange window. After creating, they immediately show up in the Quantize pull-down menu. It just sounds so excellent to semi-quantize (of fully) the Trilogy bass line using the newly created quantize template extracted Stylus. Would like to then, record live players, percussionsts, bass players etc. and have available this same Quantize template to work on the audio as needed. This seems like a reasonable request but can't seem to figure out how to do this. also, tried using 'Strip Silence' function to nudge slices around via a quantize template but that doesn't seem possible either.
