Re: [Logic_Cafe] Admin Question

2007-04-12 by Gregory

I think the OT designation in the subject would be a good idea. I
personally learned a lot from the publishing thread, and the group is
low enough volume that OT threads during the slow periods are fine
with me and help keep the group vital. But since not everyone feels
that way, putting OT in the subject will allow those people to
automatically divert those messages to an OT folder that they can
empty without reading them.

What I wouldn't want is

a) Too high an OT to Logic postings ratio
b) A separate OT list
c) a ban on the occasional OT thread

Putting OT in the subject requires all the participants to self-
regulate, which is infinitely preferable to any top-down regulation
(by Greg or his minions, if he has minions). And if the occasional
poster forgets to put OT in the subject heading of an OT posting, it
won't be too big of a crisis.

Just my thoughts

Gregory

PS: Was this post OT?
