Also, too many regions regardless of the number of tracks and VI's can make that happen. I know with audio tracks I used to have to glue together comped vocal tracks with a new region every few words or so to keep from locking up. First thing you should do though is have the System meter running to make sure it's really an overtaxing of your computer and not some weird logic vs. region glitch. Logic can do some weird stuff sometimes.
