Yea. That means your card is dead. AFAIK. Its possible that it came  
loose but that would be rare. It should show up even without a  
driver. If you have free slots in your machine a new firewire card is  
fairly inexpensive. FWIW Im no apple tech just a long time heavy  
user. But I can quit whenever I want. ; )
