When your MIDI in Logic is playing, look at the transport, is there MIDI information being
displayed?

Make sure your MIDI information is on an INSTRUMENT track, and that for the INPUT you
have assigned a virtual instrument (ES1, EXSP24, ESE, etc).

If you use a MIDI track, that would require you to have an external sound generator (synth,
drum machine, etc.) hooked up and the sound would be accessed via that generators
analog output/s. Of course you'd have to have the MIDI cables connected correctly, and
the MIDI channels assigned properly for this scenario.

I hope this helps. If some of this doesn't make sense, let me know, I can e-mail you a
Logic session with an instrument channel set up properly.
