So you might find a used AMT8 or Unitor on Ebay. The midi keyboards are prone to latency too - so you have to plug them directly into the mac (not through a hub or the alphanumeric keyboard). You could probably get by with the daisy chain latency anyway. If you're playing midi its not too bad.
