Greg,
Thanks for the reply I appreciate it...Sorry for the confusion, the only audio interface I am using is the FW 410 (as shown in that diagram I referenced). When I do Logic Assistant, it asks me which interface I want to use, the internal one or the FW-410...I choose the FW-410. I'll run through your steps tonite and report back

  Thanks!
  Doug

Also..the M-Audio FW-410 has one MIDI-IN and one MIDI-OUT...I have the keyboard controller MIDI OUT going to the FW-410 audio interface's MIDI IN to pass MIDI data to LOGIC via firewire.

  Thanks!

If you only use the MIDI OUT's from the keyboards (and daisy chain them I
presume) then you can play notes from your controller or the computer and they
will go to the keyboards. However, you will not be able to use the synth
keyboards, mod wheel, filter cutoffs, or change patches and have those things
translated to Logic or automate them. You'll have to do everything from within Logic
or the keyboard. If you get a USB keyboard (e.g. m-audio oxygen or axiom) you
just use the usb port and don't use midi on the controller at all - that will
free up the MIDI IN port on your m-audio.

G,
Thanks for the reply. I definitely want to avoid daisy chaining for the additional issue of latency. Thanks for the tip on a USB MIDI keyboard controller...didnt think of that...

  Peace.

Many guys are going to virtual synths and dumping their midi systems. So you
might find a used AMT8 or Unitor on Ebay.

The midi keyboards are prone to latency too - so you have to plug them
directly into the mac (not through a hub or the alphanumeric keyboard).

You could probably get by with the daisy chain latency anyway. If you're
playing midi its not too bad. When you go to record, you probably need to time
correct them either way once they get bounced to audio.
