Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

Hey All,

     Logic 7.1
     OS 10.3.9
     Motu 8pre or MBox (1)
     Roland UM-2 MIDI 
  
     In a nutshell:  If I try to play audio tracks along with virtual instrument tracks, things get 
all choppy in the audio and I get a warning "MIDI and audio sync error recognized.  Logic 
recognized a sample rate of 41,231 recognized" or something like that.

      If I freeze the midi (virtual instrument) tracks, everything plays fine.

      Any clues on this one????

      I've tried different sync options in the sync transport button, the ones that looked 
promising "internal" and "auto-detect" or whatever that one was called.
