Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

My friend bought academic and had no problems upgrading all the way to
7.2.

 

I always buy academic when I can.  The deal is that a lot of software
companies, the nice ones, know that they give you a little taste for a
very low price and then get you on upgrades and you are a lifetime
customer.  I always upgrade.

 

The drug dealer always says the first hit is free!  J  I wonder if they
will keep coming back... hehe

No upgrades for academic products is sorta standard. Adobe CS
(photoshop, 
etc.) is the same way. Its probably better to just go non-academic.
There may be 
less support too - although you don't get a huge amount of support even
when 
paying $1000.

Normal purchase :
full purchase $1000 (or $500 on ebay)
1st upgrade $300 ... total $1300
2nd upgrade $300 ... total $1600
3rd upgrade $300 ... total $1900 ($1400 if original bought on ebay)

Academic
full purchase $500
1st upgrade $500 ... total $1000
2nd upgrade $500 ... total $1500
3rd upgrade $500 ... total $2000
