Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

To those who have been using LP 7 academic version, a warning, if purchasing $199.00 
upgrade to Logic Studio from the Apple Store:  nowhere on the web site is this mentioned, 
but users of an "Academic" version of LP 7x WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXECUTE THE UPGRADE 
even though Apple will happily sell you the upgrade package without the appropriate 
warning.

There's a lot about this issue now on Apples LP8 discussion board <http://
discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5330274\ufffd>.  Some "academics" 
have purchased the upgrade, have opened the box, experienced a failed installation, and are 
now on the phone with customer support trying to get their money back.

"Academic" owners will simply have to spring for the full version at $499, or, for some 
discount, buy a new academic version of the Studio at $449.99 ($50 savings)

Be warned.
