Hi Chris, You can choose a directory but only on SOME of the content. Seems that Logic/Apple wants you to put certain sample files directly on you Macintosh HD. Probably because other programs like Soundtrack and GarageBand reference them..? But you will notice in the installer that you can't choose a custom directory for some of the large sample library installs.
