When I tried that, it wouldn't allow me to use my other hard drive--so I HAD to install everything on my main drive.

  Um maybe Im still asleep at work but, when I did my install, theres a 
  drop down menu right next to the content in the installer where you can 
  choose the folder to put it in. Why not just use the easy built in way?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
