I believe it is because your interface is running at a different settting than Logic itself. I had this error years ago when running a SoundBlaster soundcard - a decent soundcard solved the problem entirely. Check that the song you are trying to open is recorded at the same quality as the soundcard/interface is running - i.e. both are at 16bit, 44.1kHz or whatever.
