Seriously, between those two, the biggest factor to consider is 
whether you'd like a big machine on your desk, or a smaller machine 
you can lug around. If you are going to want to work in one place, a 
bigger screen is an advantage, and the drive will be bigger and 
faster on the iMac, etc. But for some people, especially if you 
travel a bit, and do field recording and such, the difference in 
productivity can be worth every bit of the reduced peak performance. 
For other people, who prefer to work in a set work space with all 
their other musical stuff at hand, a laptop wouldn't make any 
difference and an imac is a better choice. You are in a better 
position to judge how it will work for you than anyone on this list.
