Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

I own a 2 year old 20" Imac G5/2.0ghz, and I was told, I read, and I have 
found from trying it, that the second monitor only mirrors the main monitor - its 
not possible to have side-by-side monitors for more space. My brother also 
has the 17" version and found the same thing, although he found a shareware 
program that seems to allow a 2nd monitor non-mirrored.
