I solved my problem and it works like a charm. The issue was setting the correct start time in Logic's sync settings. Logic's default start time is 1 hour, so if you are sending MTC starting from zero then you need to set your sync settings, thus: File > Song Settings > Synchronization set 'Bar Position' to "1 1 1 1", set 'Plays at SMPTE' to "0 : 0 : 0 : 0" I hope that helps someone else who has to sync up Logic with ADATs. If you do as I have outlined below and use the correct start time, it works incredibly well. t > [Original Message] > From: Tim McLane <timmclane@...> > To: <Logic_Cafe@yahoogroups.com> > Date: 1/1/2008 11:57:15 AM > Subject: Re: [Logic_Cafe] Syncing ADATs to Logic w/MOTU 828 and Alesis BRC > > Happy New Year all! > > I am wondering if these new updates might have something to do with > my problems in syncing my ADATs to Logic using a MOTU 828 and BRC. > Here's how I have them set up" > > I connect my Alesis BRC (SMPTE set at 29.97 fps), set to generate > MTC, run a MIDI cable out of the BRC to the emagic amt/8 MIDI input. > The 9pin sync cable goes out of the BRC to the ADAT. > > Light pipe out of the ADAT to the light pipe in of my MOTU 828. > > LOGIC 8: on the sync page, I set Logic to SMPTE sync/MTC, set it to > Auto enable eternal sync and I press the sync putton on the command bar. > > Here\ufffds what I see: Audio shows up in Logic and it is sensing timecode > but it doesn\ufffdt catch.
