I tried going to Get Info as Paul suggested but still can't find out how to unblock it. It is my own recording too, so its not as if I protected it myself, although I did import in on a cd. The other side of this problem is that my mac won't let me burn a cd from itunes as it thinks I am trying to steal music. I get a cd that will play on my dvd player but not on my stereo.
