Re: [Logic_Cafe] Track automating the volume of a MIDI track

2008-12-08 by HKC

From: Fresh!

I have a MIDI track of a piano sequence given to me. I noticed that when I import it into Logic, it's actual volume is at 4.9 dB...way to loud. I have it in a song that has a 2 bar drum into before the piano starts. What I am trying to do is set the level of the piano volume at 0 dB but ever time I do so in track automation, it jumps back to 4.9 dB when the piano starts. Is there any way to lock the piano track volume at 0 dB?

You have to open event edit. There must be an control event that brings it up to 4.9. Delete all volume data (use select similar events) and the fader will stay wherever you want it to stay.
