if you have a pure midi track then there is no automation and that is the last thing you want to use to change the level. Instead : - adjust the fader for the midi channel to go down (on a software instrument like EXS24), or - alter the note velocities in this way : ?a. open the midi sequence in the matrix editor, and select all notes (command A) ?b. now open the event list, and? you will notes highlighted but not control events. select the velocity and drag it down ???? if it refuses to go low enough, then option drag to make not be stuck with the lowest value Automation is generally for audio or plugin?controls and should probably sort of a final step at the end of a production. Even if you automate the level, its easier to just adjust the whole thing down with one mouse click rather than go through all that trouble. -----Original Message----- From: Fresh! <dancensoul@...> To: Logic_Cafe@yahoogroups.com Sent: Mon, 8 Dec 2008 8:26 am Subject: [Logic_Cafe] Re: Track automating the volume of a MIDI track Re: Track automating the volume of a MIDI track Posted by: "HKC" hkc@... ? hkc12001 Mon Dec?8,?2008 4:25?am (PST) >>From: Fresh! >>I have a MIDI track of a piano sequence given to me.
