Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

Hello folks
System: MacBook Pro 17in, OS 10.5.6, Live 7.0.14, Logic Pro 8, Peak  
6.0.5, MOTU Ultralite MK3.


In all three programs, when monitoring the external audio input I'm  
hearing two signals. It's like a doubling effect. When I record the  
input there  is only one signal on playback. This tells me the  
doubling is happening in the monitoring stage.
The input monitoring in MOTU CueMix is muted on all busses.
In fact when I unmute the inputs in CurMix I then get three copies of
the signal!
Any suggestions?
