Re: Trouble getting started with Logic Express 7

Brian,

Does the ART have a headphone out? That's the headphone connection you're using?

If you need to use the Art for input into Logic and hear yourself out of the Mac headphone output. You will need to set up an "Aggregate Device" in the mac. It's been a while since I've looked into this, but it lets you use multiple audio interfaces at the same time. So you could input with one device and output with the other. If you named it ART/MAC, then in your Logic/preferences/Audio you would see "ART/MAC" listed with whatever opitions are available.

If that doesn't fix it. You could take an audio line from the ART into the mac audio input. Then use the headphone output of the mac. Then in the Logic preferences select "built-in" for the audio driver/device. I set up a friend with a system similar to this so she could record her songs. She's getting pretty good sounds.

I hope you get your situation figured out soon!

          Pete
