You're referring to OMF.  Unfortunately, Logic 5.5 will only include 
audio that resides as a physical audio file as part of the OMF 
export.  Virtual instrument tracks and group busses are not audio 
files and are thus omitted from the export!  That behavior was 
consistent with other hosts I've done OMF exports from.  What I'd 
like to see is an update to the OMF spec that specifies that any 
tracks that CAN be rendered as audio are pre-rendered and included as 
part of the OMF export.  The way it works now is incredibly outdated 
considering the way many people use their DAWs.
