Re: changing key in song

2009-12-31 by drtiminator

I've used Apple Loops Utility to take the same loop, resave it into other variations, each with its own key center.

Then, when you bring them back into Logic, you can keep the global key where it is, but the individual loops will play the various chords, and not just the original loop's chords.

You might even need to load some into Audacity and change the actual pitch before loading them into Loops Utility. Takes some planning and trial and error, but can work.

I love the loops in Logic Studio and would love to use them in a song (I sing jazz standards), but I'd need to change the keys, both into major and minor, to insert the loops so that they chance with the chord changes. I've tried to figure out how to do this in both Logic and Mainstage, and can't figure it out. When I adjust the key, it changes the key of the whole song. Any ideas? I'm importing Band in a Box files at this point but would love to use the much better sounding Logic Loops.
