You can look on version tracker and check Audacity etc. But it may very well be the situation that there is no solution. I often want software which no one has designed, so I am writing my own to do some midi that no one is making. You may look into Apple Scripts to see if you can have it run macros to do what you want. Logic used to allow you to pre name an audio file but just one name and the key commands do not allow you to change that (unlike Photoshop Actions which would allow you to change the name of something in an automated way). The other thing is old school piece of paper. Thats really the easiest. Set the recorder to record, then look at your watch, and write down "2.35 Jimmy Martin Exercise A" and of course write down when you start recording and you can use Logic's time display to randomly go to any location and process later.
