Prepare to be frustrated.

I'm sorry, but the big E in logic can be really easy to use, even when you don't understand it. Here is how I use the environment to layer synths

1. CMD 8 opens the environment.
2. Go to the layer that contains your synths that you want to layer
3. Menu "New", item "Instrument" (the first item)
4. Click and drag from the new instrument to each of the synths you want to layer. (this cables them together, just like a virtual midi cable)
5. Ignore the dire warning by clicking on REMOVE each time
6. Close the environment

In the arrange window you then just reassign your new instrument to a track and you are ready to go.

I think this is easier than clicking record on each track or copying midi to each track because you just do it once, and use it like any other instrument thereafter.

I do apologize for not heeding your warning about the environment :-)

Gregory
