Hey Guys,
Is there a simple way to layer multiple synths in Logic?
Usually if I want an uber fat synth bass, I try layering things.
Right now I record first, then copy the MIDI to other tracks to layer other synths.
If anybody says the E word .... Environment .... I'm going to get frustrated. I'm hoping to avoid that route if possible.
Thanks,

Load up the synths you want in each track then click the "R" button on each track you wish to play in real time. John ________________________________

Thanks John! I was hoping there was a simple solution like that. Pete --- In Logic_Cafe@yahoogroups.com, John Watkins <jjdubs@...> wrote:

I use Sonar Studio 8.5 on my PC at home and Logic Express 8 on my work PC. They do things a tad bit differently. In hind site I wish I had started out with Pro Tools as it is cross platformed but I've been using Cakewalk stuff since I bought Music Creator years ago and just upgraded from there. I'm sorry, but the big E in logic can be really easy to use, even when you don't understand it. Here is how I use the environment to layer synths 1. CMD 8 opens the environment. 2. Go to the layer that contains your synths that you want to layer 3. Menu "New", item "Instrument" (the first item) 4. Click and drag from the new instrument to each of the synths you want to layer. (this cables them together, just like a virtual midi cable) 5. Ignore the dire warning by clicking on REMOVE each time 6. Close the environment In the arrange window you then just reassign your new instrument to a track and you are ready to go. I think this is easier than clicking record on each track or copying midi to each track because you just do it once, and use it like any other instrument thereafter. I do apologize for not heeding your warning about the environment :-) Gregory [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
