Verses actually using automation, It sounds like what you're really doing is sending MIDI volume changes to Logic from your MIDI controller, but the MIDI sequencer in Logic is filtering it out and not capturing (recording) it, which is why you're hearing the effect. Have you tried putting the channel strip into latch or touch mode and using the fader in Logic with the mouse to put the volume changes in?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
