Re: [Logic_Cafe] soundiver for soft synths

2005-01-28 by GAmoore@aol.com

The autolink feature linked Soundiver and Logic - and it used to be the only way to get the actual patch names from an external synth into logic. I didn't use that feature for years, but I think you only needed to run it once to import the names, save the logic file as an autoload, then you could run logic and have the patch names. So you might want to run it in system 9 if you have it.

If not, you could also try running the public beta, opening a bank, selecting all, and then open the logic patch window for the same synth (by clicking on track or one of the parameters), the pasting (or maybe pasting to a spreadsheet in the middle step). I am not sure if that will work or not.

I use Soundiver all the time - especially now that I went back to using more external synths - since I seem to get most crashes when using a lot of virtual instruments but not when using Midi - and I don't know what I would do without it managing so many patches.
