My machine is considerably faster after defragmenting when: - starting up - launching programs - accessing swap files (!!) So yes, it does make a big difference here and I do it every two weeks overnight using Norton Speed Disk (and yes I know, a lot of folks don't like this program, but so far I haven't been burned) :-) Cheers Hans
