Have you changed the MIDI channel in the Garritan/Kompact (or whatever it's called) inst. window? I am always having to scroll the MIDI to the proper channel or set it to "Omni". g l e n n r u e g e r : s o n i c : a r t s __/__/__/___/__/___/__/__/___/__/__ think melodically : act harmonically On Feb 21, 2005, at 7:11 PM, Logic_Cafe@yahoogroups.com wrote: I just want a stable system to get some things done. Thats why I just invested a couple of grand more on a G5. I installed everything fresh - absolutely no shareware or demos. I even held off on installing PSP Mix Pack after someone told me it can cause crashes. So I created a new songs... and the first crash went to Garritan Personal Orchestra. I repaired permissions and ran the sudo maitence routines. I could not get Garritan to even sound.. it sounded if I used the mouse with the onscreen keyboard but when I played my real midi keyboard the keys onscreen appeared depressed but no sound. So I removed GPO. Then I got another crash ... this is with one virtual instrument, 2 midi tracks, one drum loop, and one audio track. I'm at my wits end. I guess the only other thing is to disable the supposedly valid plugs - starting with Garritan.
