OT: Automator Question

OT: Automator Question

2005-05-05 by matsumurat2001

I got Tiger tonight and installed and started using it. One of,
actually only the reason I moved to Tiger is I want to use Automator
to save time of executing repetitive task working with Logic.

The action I want to program is change time length of the multiple
sound files and save them to specified folder. I just started
learning Automator, but if I am right, that action cannot be
programmed.

Is it right? Cannot Automator program such action?

I'll be honest up front that I'm pretty ignorant about Automator, but from
what little I've read, I think that Automator is more or less an extension
of AppleScript. If I'm right, you won't be able to do anything with
Automator that you couldn't do with AppleScript. I actually hope I'm wrong
because I too, would love to be able to automate certain tasks under OS X,
but not actually Logic tasks.

Anybody know the real scoop?
