Problem with ES1, EXSP24 sound quality/and 'burning' question

Problem with ES1, EXSP24 sound quality/and 'burning' question

2005-09-14 by Aaron Wagner

Hello,
I am writing to see if someone on the chat room can
help me with a problem that's plaguing me in 6.3. I
have some instances where a few ES1, ESXP24 soft
synths will inexplicably start to deteriorate in sound
quality halfway through recording. The sound quality
just becomes warbly and mushy. I play it back and
that's what I get--the right sound quality at the
beginning and a morph into the lesser. Any experience
with this? What should I do to attempt to correct this
problem?

Second question: is there someone who would be
willing to walk me through the a step-by-step process
of burning a file to disk?

Assistance would be greatly appreciated,
Aaron Wagner

It would help if you were to list the kind of hardware you are using. Processor Speed, Type(G5 etc.) OS. Ram amount. Firewire Interface? USB? External Harddrive? Are you bouncing in realtime or Offline. Using Freeze files. Does this happen(ever) during normal playback. inquiring minds want to know. The more info the better as it all works as a symbiotic music kinda thang.

..could it be your system is getting overloaded?
..usually it will just stop or stutter. but in garage band
..i have seen it do all kinds of weird things when its pushed too hard
..could also be not enough ram.
..try copying the song file to a new name. then delete all but one of
the tracks.
..and see it works better. if so then there is too much going on at
once.

..system 9 or X? In X, you can burn anything to a CD from the finder.
I think you can control click to bring up a contexual menu or go to the
finder menus and look for Burn. but this is for data. for audio cd's
i use Toast. I just copy my Logic bounces and burn. Quite easy.
Same thing on System 9 and X by the way.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
