Pro Tools Style Audio Region Editing

Pro Tools Style Audio Region Editing

2005-09-14 by funkboylazar

Hello There,

I am a new user not used to the intricacies of Logic Pro. My main
tool for audio recording,
editing, mixing, and mastering has been Pro Tools TDM for many years.
I need a little bit of
help on doing certain audio editing tasks, such as:

1. Snapping the end of a region to the beginning of another region.
2. Creating a sync point or marker on a region, then snapping the
start of another region to
that sync point or marker.
3. Creating a sync point or marker on a region, then snapping the
end of another region to
that sync point or marker.
4. Creating two sync points on 2 separate regions, then snapping each
of the regions to each
others sync point.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Albert.

You can set the snapping on the Arrange page (upper left corner, little
drop down menu).
I think you can look at the key commands to accomplish (or make a
workaround).
For example you can move the SPL (the cursor) to a Logic marker start
position,
or move it forward or back to the next bar, beat, part, tick or 8 bars.
Then I think
there is a command (but not sure) that you can move a selected object
to the
cursor position - perhaps the "pick up" commands - or some such
strangely named
key commands.

Perhaps someone else know more about these. Please let us know what you
find, otherwise.

Thanks for your reply. I'll work on your suggestions.
