External FireWire Drive With 16 Meg Cache Buffer Problem

I just purchased a Seagate External FireWire drive with 16 MB cache buffer. After transferring my sample library to it, I noticed some sluggishness in performance. Someone told me that the 16 MB cache buffer might be more incompatible than an 8 Meg cache buffer... Q: Is this true ... has anyone else noticed that this could be an issue with music production with either sample libraries or audio files? -- Thanks - RevDave CoolCat@... [db-lists]
