Garage Band

2006-08-28 by Scotsman

Hi
I have used Cubase for years and I'm very new to this MacBook Pro, Garage Band-Logic
experience so please bear with me.

Why do I get static in my Garage Band Compositions? All effects are turned off, and it doesn't
happen in every song. Sometimes the static goes away when I mute enough tracks;
sometimes I must only play 3 tracks to get the static to stop.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe the internal Mike of the Macbook Pro is open and a track for
live (vocal...) input/recording is selected+record enabled?

As Frank said, maybe you are recording from the builtin mic on the powerbook. Another
possibility is that some demo plugins emit noise periodically or increasingly. As you are
turning off tracks, narrow down exactly which track is causing the problem.

If it seems to vary and you can't narrow it down, then it might be your sound card. You might
try itunes or other things to see if you get noise at times from them. you might also consider
a vist to the nearest apple store if you can't narrow it down.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
