RMX/Addictive Drums

I have RMX and I use it for quick demos, but its basically recycled loops. I
am excited about Addictative Drums and am going to buy that today. Its midi +
samples, but it sounds really good and you can tweak easier, and even play the
parts yourself on the keyboard.

I know it's only in VSTi (can't use it in Logic), but Jamstix is pretty cool. In REAL TIME it
jams on drums along with you, responding to what you're doing. Demo video at:

Stylus is way more that just recycled loops, if you use
multitimbrally, with its Edit Groups, Chaos Designer, and its drag-
and-drop functionality.

Stylus MIDI parts can be manipulated like any other MIDI parts --
both as groove cues and and drum sequences. And you can play the
individual parts on the keyboard, also.

It's a product with a tremendous amount of depth...one of the few for
which I actually watched a tutorial videos. I rarely have the
patience for that :)

If you're thinking about Addictive Drums you should also check out
BFD. It's a more mature product with a lot more available library.

Kind regards

I suggest that you try EZ Drummer as well. Those who've heard both say that
EZD has better sounding samples than AD.

However BFD takes up massive disk & ram space, takes a lot of
learning, requires knowledge of how to 'process' drums and just
generally takes more time to use. Addictive Drums sounds good, has
everything built in and is pretty much instantly useable - much
better for someone just stepping up from Stylus. However I do agree
that BFD is ultimatly a more mature program and sounds truly amazing -
but it takes as much 'tweaking' to get it working as a real drum kit!
