beat mapping

beat mapping

2007-10-04 by Lee Scott

Hi all,

I am having a problem with beat mapping. I am trying to map slow,
simple, rubato piano performances. I have a piece at about 40bpm -
all 1/4 notes. The beat mapping starts out ok, but 2 bars in I keep
getting the warning that a tempo that is too low will result when I
drag the beat marker to the note. I get the same results when I use
the "beats from region" feature. Help!

40 is pretty slow. Why don't you make them half notes rather than quarter
notes, and put the tempo to 80.

This has come up before. Try beat mapping with half notes at twice
the tempo. Logic doesn't like to dip below 40 bpm, for some reason.
