[Logic_Cafe] Problems with disappearing Exs24 instruments

[Logic_Cafe] Problems with disappearing Exs24 instruments

2007-10-05 by Tim McLane

I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem: I dont' know what caused it, but at some point, I started getting this error: "EXS24 instrument "Pop Kit.exs" audiofile "TTHI11x04.aif" not found". Then there are two options: continue or search again. I tried "search again" several times but it didn't work. If I chose the other one "continue", then none of the Loops which use the EXS24 files would work.

I tried reinstalling all the Jam Packs and Audio Content but after hours of that, it still doesn't work, ie, I get the same error when I open up Logic.

Can any one give me any suggestions?

Have you searched the hard drives via the finder to see if the aif
file exists? If you CAN find it, then I don't know - that's a weird
problem. If you canNOT find it, then it somehow got deleted and
you're not reinstalling the right files.

I had a similar problem yesterday. But only with two or three EXS24
patches not working. I reinstalled L8 and it fixed it. I think it may
have been due to not loading L7 legacy content -see page 9 of the
install sheet, which is unchecked by default.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
