Bouncing to Quicktime??

Bouncing to Quicktime??

2007-10-06 by pete_buchwald

Hey,

I made a movie (iMovie) and then used Logic Pro 7.2 (Academic) to add some music. I
went to bounce it to a Quicktime movie and ...... couldn't find any such function. I found a
work around by using ... "the industry standard" DAW. I tried a garage band bounce as well,
but that didn't work. Only Pro Tools worked.

     Thanks!

             Pete

maybe you import the movie into logic, make the music, save the music, then
put the music as a soundtrack to the movie in itunes - a little backward but it
would seem to work. also did you try the new soundtrack pro that comes with
Logic8?

Not sure if this is the recommended method, but I:

1. Open the movie as a float in Logic
2. Make sure the total length of the song matches the length of the movie (use the movies
scrubber to move back and forth in the song)
3. Bounce the song out as an aif or mp3

then either:
4. Open the movie and the bounced song file in Quicktime Pro, select all the song and
copy, select all the movie and "Add to Selection & Scale".
or
4. Open the movie in iMovie and import the bounced song file to the soundtrack.

Not sure why you would want to export the song in Quicktime format, you'd have a devil
of a time trying to combine it with your existing movie. I hope I've understood you
correctly and that this helps.

I tried that .... it did nothing, that I could see. The easiest way was to bounce the Logic audio
and import the video and audio into Pro Tools. Pro Tools DOES have a bounce to QuickTime
option.

Maybe one or more of these scripts would help?
