Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

I am working with a bunch of files recorded at 32k, and the minimum  
available to me in the transport bar is 44.1k, which is what I  
normally use.  I can reimport at a 44.1k sample rate, but resampling  
at a higher rate seems risky to me, as you are basically adding data  
that doesn't exist to the files.  I am preparing these files for some  
very precise acoustic analyses, so the introduction of any artifacts  
would be very bad, even those I can't necessarily hear upon  
playback.  Anyone know this stuff well enough to know whether I'd be  
OK resampling at 44.1K?
